Colac couple Jesse and Jacalyn's Otway wedding was certainly something special to be a part of!

The duo took their vows in the up and coming rustic township of Forrest, which is becoming a firm weekend favourite amongst foodies and cycling enthusiasts. Despite its transformed status, Forrest maintains an element of it's small town country charm and this added authenticity to a day which was very much set in an area were these guys had their roots. As their guests assembled, long time friends exchanged conversations about local footy and other familiar news. It was clear that everyone was excited to spend a day together and share in Jesse and Jacalyn's celebrations.

Shortly before the ceremony began the unpredictable Otway weather turned and umbrellas were definitely needed. Yet as the bride walked down the aisle her exuberant personality and optimism shone through and nobody was going to be deterred by a little bit of rain!

We then headed back to Jacalyn's parents Birregurra property for a marquee reception. This choice of reception venue was unique as it held so much family significance and years of memories hung in the air. Stunning floral installations cascaded down from the marquee ceilings and these were extra special as they had been made by Jacalyn's sister and bridesmaid who is the brains behind Apollo Bay's 'Earthflower.' As the guests enjoyed their sit down meal the weather cleared and we were treated to the most beautiful sunset. We jumped at the opportunity to head into the paddocks for some portraits in the golden light of dusk and the newly weds strolled amongst the hay bales drinking in every moment.

Returning to the party, guests had started to spill outside playing lawn games and later the dance floor spilled out under the stars. Shout out to the best man for the funniest speech I heard all season!
